For PORR, its own technological and structural edge is central. But to achieve this, the construction group needs motivated employees. That is why PORR wants to address the participants not only with facts and figures, but with emotional experiences. To this end, Live Lab is developing a "World of PORR" exhibition to accompany the PORR Congress 2017.
PORR realises major projects such as bridges over fjords in Norway, office towers in Germany or the Doha metro in Qatar. Every two years the PORR Congress takes place in Vienna: Here the construction group presents its joint business successes and future strategies to 2’000 participants from all international units and their partners. In the accompanying “World of PORR” exhibition, participants experience PORR’s innovations, they recognise themselves in the ambitious projects and they have fun: for example, when they compete in a skills competition in real e-excavators.
In the exhibition, visitors can enter a tube where they go on a projected ride through an exploratory tunnel before the world’s largest PORR drill head with a diameter of 21 metres comes into action. They can track construction machinery on a digital map, as every piece of equipment at PORR is fitted with a GPS transmitter. You can move through buildings that have not yet been built using PORR’s virtual reality technology. Or try to stack buckets in competition with real e-excavators. And much, much more.
In addition, the countless PORR projects around the world are shown in an exciting way, so that every participant can recognise themselves with their own assignment in the exhibition. And all the furniture in the exhibition is built with the participants’ own materials – PORR pallets and Doka panels.
This is how Live Lab and PORR manage to captivate their own employees: Most visitors hardly want to leave the “World of PORR” when the exhibition closes.
